- Type a country’s name. It counts as soon as it matches and turns green on the map; a country under another letter clears the box, with a note saying which letter it is under.
- Pause whenever you like. When the time is up, the lists below the map show what you named and what you missed.

Libya is the largest and Liechtenstein the smallest. Liechtenstein is one of only two doubly landlocked countries, and Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa. Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. Latvia and Lithuania are two of the three Baltic states, and Luxembourg is a Grand Duchy. Liberia was founded by freed slaves from the United States. “Lao PDR” counts for Laos.

A country is under the first letter of the name used on this site, ignoring accents. The two Congos are both under C, where most lists put them. Territories and dependencies aren’t answers, and land outside the quiz is shown in a lighter shade.
Spelling: capitals, accents, spaces and punctuation don’t matter, and well-known alternative names count.
The accepted alternative names appear here when your quiz ends, so they don’t give any answers away.
