How to play
- Press Start. You have 2 minutes for all 17 countries.
- Type a country’s name. It counts as soon as it matches and turns green on the map; a country under another letter clears the box, with a note saying which letter it is under.
- Pause whenever you like. When the time is up, the lists below the map show what you named and what you missed.

More about the countries that start with B (names some answers)
Brazil is the largest and the most populous; Barbados is the smallest. Six are landlocked: Belarus, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso and Burundi. Belgium and Belarus, and Bahrain and the Bahamas, are the pairs most often confused. “Bosnia” counts for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and “Brunei Darussalam” for Brunei.
Which countries count
A country is under the first letter of the name used on this site, ignoring accents. The two Congos are both under C, where most lists put them. Territories and dependencies aren’t answers, and land outside the quiz is shown in a lighter shade.
Spelling: capitals, accents, spaces and punctuation don’t matter, and well-known alternative names count.
The accepted alternative names appear here when your quiz ends, so they don’t give any answers away.
